Incremental Forming of Titanium Grade 2 Sheet by TPIF-RL Method

TPIF-RL method is a new that gives better wall thickness in incremental forming. In this method, the sheet not fixed at edges. Like deep drawing process, it compressed with certain pressure. During forming flows under blankholder. Thus, more homogenous ob-tained.In study, Titanium Grade 2 formed as cone via method. Optimum parameters were determined by Signal/Noise analysis. addi-tion, finite element analysis of process was performed. Using bar clamping pressure, 1000 mm/min feedrate, 0.75 mm increment and 15 tool di-ameter optimum result obtained. With these parameters, 6% thin-ning occurs on thickness. This ensures homogeneous distribution.
